I purchased a few seed packets on sale at the local hardware store here. All of them came off arack with a big display saying "Hybrid Seeds". One of them was "Beefsteak" from American seed(Plantation products). When I inquired, the salesman said it was a hybrid. Now I'm confusedbecause the packet does not say anywhere on it what it is.Hey, for 19 cents can I really go wrong? It does have a nice picture on the front.

Beefsteak is not a hybrid.
American seed is known for low cost seeds but they have been around for a while and their seeds seem fine to me

And on sale, at 19 cents each, a person can't go wrong. Especially since my beefsteaks are not hybrid and I can save the seed for next year. Even assuming I only get 50% germination because they are 1 year old, is worth it.
